Nozinan – Methotrimeprazine

One of the medications that some people use to combat insomnia is Methotrimeprazine (generic name), sold under the brand name Nozinan, which is not only used for its calming effects, but also for pain relief, psychiatric disorders, and nausea and vomiting. Methotrimeprazine is available in tablet and liquid form, and it is recommended that either form be taken with food to avoid an upset stomach.

Nozinan Side Effects

The side effects of methotrimeprazine are minimal compared to the relief it provides. Some users report drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Other side effects include skin rash, weakness, rapid heartbeat and confusion. If you are taking methotrimeprazine, and notice these or any other unusual side effects, report it to your doctor to make sure that this is the right medication for you.

Nozinan Important Information

If you have decided to use methotrimeprazine, you will be taking it under the care of your doctor, who will know which dosage is best for you. Some factors that will influence the dosage include weight, other health conditions and any other medications that you may be taking.

Once you are taking methotrimeprazine, it is important that you do not increase the dosage unless it is approved by your doctor. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Avoid taking it if it is near the time for the next dose. Never double-up your dosage in the hope of catching up. Instead, simply skip the missed dose and continue with your regular prescribed schedule.

If you are experiencing difficulties sleeping, and none of the non-medical treatments have helped, you may need to speak to your physician about taking a sleep aid for a short period of time. Ask your doctor about methotrimeprazine or other sleeping aids that may be right for you.
